Legal Research

Business & Social Sciences has a subscription to Westlaw, with the subscription mostly concentrated on New York State. It can only be used here in the library. We  also have a complete set of the New York Statutes.  We can not provide legal advice,  but we can assist you with finding basic information about the law. The New York State laws are also available online at the following website.
We also have some books on the law that are designed for the layperson on popular subjects as divorce, wills, bankruptcy,  etc.  Some examples of these book titles are: Nolo’s Essential Guide to Divorce, Chapter 13 Bankruptcy: Keep your Property & Repay Debts Over Time, Quick and Legal Will Book just to  name a few.
