June is the time for weddings and most books about weddings tend to focus on the bride, but there are books that focus on the groom or the men in the wedding party. Three titles that caught my attention were The Best Man’s Handbook, The Complete Guide for The Anxious Groom and The Groom’s Instruction Manual. Come check out our display about Weddings in the Business & Social Sciences Division.
We get many reference questions about copyright. Copyright is a difficult topic, so we often refer people to the copyright website. http://www.copyright.gov/help/faq/ This website addresses some of the questions that people frequently inquire about copyright. We also have some basic copyright forms here at the library.
At the reference desk, we often get question about contractors. If you need to hire a contractor, one resource that can help you is the Better Contractors Bureau http://www.the-bcb.net. They are located at 1151 Titus Ave, Rochester NY 14617, (585) 338-3600. You can contact them directly to see if they have received any complaints about a specific contractor. They also can provide good information about hiring a contactor in general. On their website this month, they have tips to protect your self against fly by night operators. Read the article at the following link http://www.the-bcb.net/advice3.shtml.
We have a database that we subscribe to that only can be used here in the library. It has listings for approximately 23 million companies. It usually includes information like the address, phone number, website of the company, overview of what the company is and information on its sales and number of employees. It is particulary useful for locating information about the headquarters of a company. Hoover’s is a subsidiary of Dun & Brad Street. Come in and check it out.
